Factors affecting ultimate tensile strength and impact toughness of 3D printed parts using fractional factorial design

چکیده

This paper aims to investigate the mechanical properties of specimens printed by 3D open-source printers. It discusses effect five factors (part orientation, layer height, extrusion width, nozzle diameter, and filament temperature) on ultimate tensile strength impact toughness 3D-printed samples. A 25–1 resolution V fractional factorial experiment was run with 16 samples a Prusa I3 MK3S in PLA. Tensile were tested using Instron 3367 Tinius Olsen 66 testers, respectively. In analyzing data, normal probability plot effects complimented ANOVA (Analysis Of Variance) revealed that, for both responses, only part orientation statistically significant at p = 0.05. Regression equations used predict as function orientation. Both response are maximized horizontal Verification experiments have been implemented validate adopted regression equations’ predictions under different circumstances, results those appear confirm model.

Ultimate tensile strength of tooth structures.

OBJECTIVE This study determined the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of enamel (E), dentin (D) and dentin-enamel junction (DEJ) using the microtensile technique. It was hypothesized that the UTS of dental structures varies according to location and nature. METHODS Intact occlusal enamel surfaces from extracted human third molars were etched with 37% phosphoric acid and bonded with a one-bottle...

Use of a fractional factorial design to evaluate interactions of environmental factors affecting biodegradation rates.

For investigation of main and interactive effects of six experimentally controlled environmental factors on phenol biodegradation in a shake-flask system, a largely neglected statistical procedure was applied. A major benefit resulting from the application of the orthogonal, fractional factorial design is that the number of experiments necessary to evaluate multifactor interactions is limited. ...

Investigation of formulation variables affecting the properties of lamotrigine nanosuspension using fractional factorial design

BACKGROUND AND THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Lamotrigine (LMG) undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism upon oral administration and its absorption is affected in the presence of food. This study was aimed to develop nanosuspension of LMG and investigate its formulation characteristics using L(9) orthogonal array. METHODS Nanosuspension was prepared using emulsification-solvent diffusion method. All...

An Experimental Study on Effects of Hot Plate Welding Parameters on Toughness Energy and Tensile Strength in Weld Line of Thermoplastic Parts

Integral production of the thermoplastic parts with complicated geometric shapes by the processes such as injection molding and extrusion is not economical. It is better to divide the final shape into more simple parts and after production join them by an appropriate welding process. This research aims to study the tensile strength and toughness energy of high- density polyethylene parts which ...
